We do not use it for any purposes other than those which are set out in the research specification included in our contracts. We are committed to keeping personal data secure and take all reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse or alteration. Only authorised WECD employees carrying out authorised business functions are allowed to access data held by us.
At the commencement of every research assignment, we prepare a documented assessment of the research data requirements. This assessment is led by the designated Project Director and authorised by the WECD Managing Director. It is shared with the client for completeness and acts as our data management plan.
We ensure that personal data are relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed. We also minimise the amount of data processed and ensure that all research data are anonymised and summarised/abstracted for reporting purposes.
We also ensure that all employees who work for and/ or are employed by WECD have undergone adequate training to enable them to comply with the data protection legislation and cyber security (including as advised by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/information/certified-training).
